Council wants bureau to investigate high gas prices in North Bay

North Bay city council is asking the federal competition bureau to investigate high gas prices in the city.  Councillor Mike Anthony says the rate of a $1.27 a litre defies logic considering what other communities are paying.

Anthony says the competition bureau investigated prices in Brockville and Kingston and found everything was not kosher.  He says three filling stations were fined $2 million dollars for manipulating the price of.

Anthony hopes the bureau can get to the bottom of why gas is so high in North Bay.  He says even Thunder Bay has gas cheaper than fuel in North Bay.
