North Bay deputy mayor Sheldon Forgette wasn’t able to get any council support to increase the number of bedrooms in homes. The maximum number will stay at five.
Forgette was trying to increase the number to six. City council limits bedrooms at five to ensure things don’t get out of hand by having too many tenants in one area.
But Forgette believes it’s not the number of tenants that cause trouble but whether or not they are good renters. However he wasn’t able to convince his colleagues to amend the by-law.
