More than $1.4-million dollars in provincial funding is going towards supporting a local midwifery group in North Bay. The Victorian Order of Nurses Group will receive over $500,000 in new base funding, and up to $890,000 in one time funding. The money is for the 2015-2016 year.
The nursing organization provides health care services across Nipissing. They also run community support programs such as Meals on Wheels, and other specialized services for children, seniors, and First Nations. In a statement, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli thanked the staff at VON-North Bay for their continued commitment in providing quality health care services in the community.
