Water deficit faces city council

North Bay has a projected water deficit of around $500,000.  Councillor Tanya Vrebosch believes several factors are to blame including the late start in getting the water meters operational and the loss of a large commercial water user.

Vrebosch admits the projected loss is more than what she expected adding she thought the deficit would be in the $200,000 range.  The city has about $2 million in its water reserve fund to offset the deficit.

But Vrebosch wants to know what happens in the future if more losses are encountered adding the city can’t keep dipping into reserves.
