West Nipissing Police officers have charged a Sturgeon Falls man with domestic assault.
They were called to a Bay Street home early this morning after a fight between a couple turned violent. Inspector St. Pierre says they found a woman at the home with her face bleeding.
The suspect had allegedly slapped the woman in the face, beaten her with a belt, and thrown an object at her. The man has been charged with domestic assault, assault with a weapon, and breach of probation.
