As of 3 pm on Monday, September 28, there are no active cases in the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit’s region.
The Health Unit’s website has added two more resolved cases to its tracker, making it 40 total cases in the region with 39 considered resolved. One person has died of the virus in the region since March.
The region has gone one full week without a positive case after a streak of two months was broken earlier in the month.
This comes as Ontario continues to see higher numbers of cases in recent weeks. The province has reported over 400 daily cases in eight of the past 10 days, including 700 cases reported on Monday. This comes after the province saw a period during the summer where daily numbers were consistently below 100.
The majority of cases in the province have been reported in people under the age of 40.
