North East CCAC receives designation under the French Language Services Act

The North East Community Care Access Centre will now offer quality home and community care in French and English.

With support from the Local Health Integration Network, the northeast CCAC has officially received designation under the French Language Services Act. They are now one of two CCACs in Ontario that offer services in both languages.

Acting CEO of the Northeast LHIN, Terry Tilleczek, said the designation is especially welcome news for the french community. “With more than 23 per cent of people living in Northeastern Ontario being Francophone, it is important for people to be able to express their health care needs in French when that is the language they are most comfortable with.”
