Even though oil is at a six year low hovering in the $41 a barrel range, the price of gas is down only in some areas. And Northern Ontario is not one of them.
Gas in North Bay and Sudbury still goes for about a $1.16 a litre. Compare that to Toronto where it’s nearly 10 cents a litre less or Barrie and Orillia where motorists are filling up for a $1.03.
And in St. Catharines some outlets are selling gas at 87 cents a litre! North Bay council has been trying to get to the bottom of the huge differences and has a motion asking the competition bureau to investigate.
