There has been a small house fire in North Bay. It broke out in a basement unit of a home at 823 Ferguson.
Firefighters got the call around 5 this morning and quickly put out the flames. The fire has displaced 10 people. Firefighters rescued one dog from the fire and treated one of the tenants at the scene. No one was seriously hurt.
Deputy Fire Chief Greg Saunders says the house was old and built before code so it presented some problems. An investigation into the cause is now underway.
