A North Bay area man has to pay a hefty fine for illegally hunting a moose.
Jeff Gagne of Rutherglen was found guilty and fined $1,000 for illegally killing a bull moose during the closed season. He shot and killed the moose near Mattawa in early October, 2012, a week before the season opened. The moose was seized and forfeited to the Crown.
