North Bay man facing assault charges

A 25-year-old North Bay man is facing multiple charges including assault after police say he allegedly did some property damage with a club.

North Bay Police Service Community Officer John Shultz says that on Sept. 23rd, the accused went to a Worthington Street West home and began banging on the door making demands of the residents. He then raised a club, demanding the male resident to come out and fight him.

The accused then allegedly damaged the door of the house, and then damaged a vehicle that was parked in the driveway. Another male resident then showed up to see the accused going through the vehicle. The two got into an altercation and the victim was able to hold the accused until police arrived.

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

  • He was charged with:
  • Two counts of Assault with a Weapon;
  • Two counts of Mischief;
  • One count of Breach Release Order; and
  • One Count of Causing a Disturbance.
