Thousands of kids are heading back to school today in the North Bay and West Nipissing area.
North Bay Police officers will be closely monitoring school zones and high traffic areas for their “Back to School Campaign”. During the two week campaign, officers will be following designated school bus routes in the morning and afternoon to make sure everyone is following the rules of the road.
When a school bus has stopped, drivers in both directions must obey the bus’s red flashing stop lights and extended arm, and stop a safe distance away. The results of the campaign will be published at the end of September.
