The province is providing the North Bay Regional Health Centre with $475,000 to help expand access to critical mental health and addictions support.
The funding is part of the province’s roadmap to wellness, a $3.8 billion investment over 10 years.
The conservatives say the plan will deliver high-quality care and build a modern and connected mental health and addictions system.
In Nipissing, the funding provides enhanced services and supports, including addictions/substance abuse treatment ($320,000) as well as nurse practitioners for detox services ($155,000).
“This is an important investment for North Bay,” said Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli. “It will make it easier for people to find and access high-quality mental health and addictions services when and where they need them. We’re working with our partners to provide long-term stability and investments in critical services to improve and modernize the system and close urgent gaps in care.”
