Pharmacy technician charged for stealing $39,000 of fentanyl patches

A 36-year-old pharmacy technician is facing drug trafficking charges.

North Bay Police Services say that allegedly, the North Bay woman was stealing fentanyl patches from a city drug store.

Police say the suspect removed 130 fentanyl patches through her access to the secured facility. The estimated street value of the prescription fentanyl is $39,000.

Police say the pharmacist at the store called police as he believed they were missing from the business.

The suspect was released by police and is scheduled to appear in North Bay court in mid-December.

She was charged with one count of Criminal Breach of Trust, one count of Trafficking a Schedule 1 Substance, and one count of theft.
