Paid parking for hospital visitors resumes next week

Patients and visitors of the North Bay Regional Health Centre will have to pay for parking beginning on November 2.

The hospital waived its parking fees in the spring as part of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting Monday, parking fees will be reinstated at its three visitor lots.

The price to park at the hospital will be $6 for daily parking, which is the same cost as before the pandemic.

According to its Facebook page, the hospital has upgraded its parking system during the pause in paid parking.

“The new system is highly efficient and easier to use and will provide patients and visitors with more choice and flexibility,” the hospital states.

Visitors and patients will still take their ticket inside the hospital with them but will have the option to pay at the gate when leaving. Debit payment is also available.

The health centre will also be offering day, week, two-week and month-long parking passes which can be bought at the parking services desk.
