‘Trickster’ gets picked up by US broadcasters

Just weeks after its premiere, a series filmed in North Bay has closed deals for the show to be broadcast across North America.

Trickster is a coming-of-age drama series with the same producers as Cardinal – another show filmed in North Bay. It premiered on CBC on October 7.

It was announced on Tuesday that Abacus Media Rights has cut deals to have the show broadcast on the CW, AMC Networks’ Sundance Now and Shudder.

The series follows a teenage drug dealer in a small British Columbia town who begins noticing magical events taking place around him.

The show premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival prior to its television release.

Trickster’s first season had six episodes produced, with four having aired already.

The show will be available across North America on January 12, 2021.
