Community mourns for Noah Dugas

Noah Dugas, the boy who brought the community together over the last few months has passed away.

The 13-year-old died Friday.

The community rallied behind Dugas and his family earlier this year after it was reported the young man had suffered a stroke.

Support came in droves both locally and across Canada.

His cousin, Megan, who initially shared with Twitter Noah’s situation (which garnered tons of support across the NHL and other celebrities), informed the world yesterday about his passing.

“It is with sincere sadness that I write Noah has passed. His strength and perseverance will never be forgotten. His memory will live on. #NoahStrong,” she wrote.

Pictures of the young man’s face filled social media on Friday, with many sharing words of compassion for the family.

Many families across North Bay and West Nipissing put hockey sticks, gloves, and jersey outside their doors to pay tribute to the young man and his family.
