Arrest made in May armed robbery

North Bay Police have arrested a woman in connection to an armed robbery in May.

On May 13, police responded to an apartment complex on Trout Lake Road. They say the female victim had let someone into her apartment whom she believed to be a personal support worker.

When the person was let in, police say she pointed a gun at the victim, demanding money and medications.

On Sunday, police were granted a warrant to search a home in the north end of the city leading to the arrest of a 44-year-old North Bay woman.

While searching the home, police found a handgun they believe was used during the incident in May.

Constable John Schultz says police received numerous tips over the six-month period about the potential suspect, but none were solid enough to earn a search warrant until Sunday.

The woman has been charged with one count of Robbery with a Firearm. She has been released from custody and will appear at the North Bay Courthouse in late December.
