Drone interferes with air traffic, police remind public to be cautious

On Saturday, they responded to a complaint of a drone interfering with air traffic near the West Ferris Arena.

Police were not able to locate the drone or the person responsible.

Police say that drones cannot fly near airports without obtaining permission.

They say you need a drone pilot licence to fly drones that weigh 250 grams (g) (Approximately 0.5 pounds) up to and including 25 kilograms (kg) (Approximately 55 pounds). You need to be 14 years old to get a basic license, 16 years old to get an advanced license and children younger than 14 must be supervised by someone with a license.
