North Bay police hire one new officer, promote three others

The North Bay Police Service has sworn in one new police officer while promoting three of its own. 

Cst. Megan White was sworn in as the service’s newest officer last week. White is originally from North Bay, attending Algonquin College before serving as a military police officer with the Canadian Armed Forces. White is returning home after spending time as a special constable at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo. 

Scott McFarlane was promoted to the rank of Inspector during the same ceremony last week. Following three years with the OPP, McFarlane has been with the NBPS since 1997. In recognition of his work, McFarlane has been promoted to oversee the department’s Criminal Investigation Unit.

Pete Brunette, another officer with over two decades of experience, was promoted to Staff Sergeant and will now supervise a platoon.

Dave Wilson was promoted to the role of Sergeant after 18 years on the force and will also lead a platoon.

The four people were recognized at a physically-distanced ceremony on December 11.
