Two charged for illegal gathering

Two people have been charged by North Bay OPP for violating provincial gathering restrictions in East Ferris.

Police responded to complaints of an illegal gathering on Lavigne Road in East Ferris Township last week. 

Officers found that people from multiple residences were at the social gathering. 

OPP had previously investigated the residence in November for a similar but unrelated call. 

As a result of both investigations, an 18-year-old and a 46-year-old have been charged with failing to comply with a continued section 7.0.2 order, contrary to section 10(1)(a) of the Reopening Ontario Act, 2020.

The 46-year-old was given a ticket while the 18-year-old will appear before Provincial Offences Court in March.
