Aspin voices “conditional” support for Energy East Pipeline

Conservative candidate for Nipissing-Timiskaming, Jay Aspin, says if reelected, he would support the Energy East Pipeline Project.

He feels the pipeline would create jobs, and would reduce Canada’s dependency on foreign oil. Aspin says his support of the pipeline is conditional on a successful hearing of the North Bay intervention, and that he will ensure the safety of North Bay’s drinking water.

If everything goes as planned, the pipeline will be built along Trout Lake, which is one of North Bay’s only sources of drinking water. Aspin is running against Liberal Candidate Anthony Rota, NDP Candidate Kathleen Jodouin, and Green Party Candidate Nicole Peltier. Election Day is October 19th.
