Demolition of the Sacred Heart Church in Sturgeon Falls will begin next week.
The Parish’s Council and Finance Committee came to the decision after reviewing recommendations from two engineering reports. The council says a small, more secure church will be rebuilt on the lot, hopefully within a year.
The announcement was made to a full house at the Recreation Complex in Sturgeon Falls last night. Consultations with members of the church will happen over the next several months to come up with a plan for the new building.
