Cook pleased with his replacement

North Bay Police Chief Paul Cook is confident he’s leaving the department in good hands.  Deputy Chief Shawn Devine takes over command four months from now as Cook retires after a long career.

Cook says Devine is the right man for the job because during his lengthy illness last year, Devine became acting chief and Cook says there were no issues.   Cook says when he returned to work, Devine gave him a list of all that transpired during the chief’s illness and Cook says the deputy did an outstanding job.

Cook believes that good work was one factor in Devine’s promotion.  An official change of command ceremony takes place January 22nd.
