Green Party candidate against Energy East Pipeline project

Nipissing-Timiskaming Green Party candidate Nicole Peltier is against the Energy East Pipeline project, and she feels the community’s with her.

Peltier says under the current plan, 1.1-million barrels of oil will cross area watersheds, including Trout Lake. She says the risk to North Bay’s drinking water and the environment is far too great to approve the project. Peltier says she’s the only candidate in the riding who fully opposes the pipeline project, and others need to stand up for the cause.

Three other candidates are running for MP in Nipissing-Timiskaming, including Conservative candidate Jay Aspin, Liberal candidate Anthony Rota, and NDP candidate Kathleen Jodouin. Election Day is October 19th.
