A 30-year-old North Bay woman is facing Attempt to Commit Murder charges.
It comes after the North Bay Police Service (NBPS) released more information following last Monday’s shooting at a residence in the 600-block of Morin Street.
David Woolley, NBPS Corporate Communications Officer, says through an extensive investigation, the NBPS identified several suspects believed to be involved in the crime. All of the accused have been located and arrested. Among them, is a 30-year-old North Bay woman.
Woolley says NBPS also identified the vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting and requested the assistance of the Ottawa Police Service.
On March 26, they located the vehicle and arrested two additional suspects.
A 36-year old from Ottawa is charged with:
Two counts of Attempt to Commit Murder Using a Firearm
Three counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order
One count of Contravening Section 117(h) of the Firearms Act Regulation
One count of Possession of a Weapon/Danger to public peace
One count of Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence and registration certificate
One count of Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence and registration certificate
One count of occupying a motor vehicle with firearm
One count of possession of a loaded regulated firearm
One count of possession of a firearm with altered serial number
A 23-year-old from Ottawa is charged with:
Two counts of Attempt to Commit Murder Using a Firearm
One count of Contravening Section 117(h) of the Firearms Act Regulation
One count of Possession of a Weapon/Danger to public peace
One count of Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence and registration certificate
One count of Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence and registration certificate
One count of occupying a motor vehicle with firearm
One count of possession of a loaded regulated firearm
One count of possession of a firearm with altered serial number
On March 29th, with the help of the Greater Sudbury Police Service, a 27-year-old from Halifax was also arrested. The individual was charged with two counts of Attempt to Commit Murder Using a Firearm
All accused are in custody awaiting bail hearings. NBPS says there is no concern for public safety.
