Road safety campaign sees 59 tickets issued

The North Bay Police Service has issued 59 tickets in a recent road safety campaign.

With help from public complaints and communications, the service set up target traffic enforcement patrols in both North Bay and Callander last week.

From April 13-15, police held traffic enforcement in Callander and issued 25 Provincial Offence Notices for the following infractions:

  • Speeding
  •  Improper Muffler
  •  Failure to stop at a Stop Sign
  •  Use of Unauthorized License Plates
  •  Driving without proof of insurance
  •  Driving without proof of ownership

From April 18-19, the NBPS partnered with the OPP for traffic enforcement in North Bay and 34 Provincial Offence Notices were issued for:

  • Speeding
  •  Improper muffler
  •  Improper tires
  •  Improper lighting
  •  Use of Unauthorized License Plates
  •  Driving without proof of insurance
  •  Driving without proof of ownership

Police also seized four sets of unauthorized license plates, towed four (4) vehicles, and designated four vehicles for a Ministry of Transportation inspection.
