18-year-old and young offender facing gun charges

Two more people are facing charges in relation to the home invasion that took place on Cedar Heights East Road on April 27.

The North bay Police Service shared it has arrested and charged one male individual as well as a young offender. 

The 18-year old male is charged with: 

• Two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm 
•  Two counts of Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
•  Two counts of Firearm- Use while committing an offence
•  Two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order
•  Two counts of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
•  Two counts of Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was a Firearm  
•  One count of Disguise with intent
•  One count of Break, Enter dwelling – commit indictable offence 

The young offender is charged with: 

• Two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm 
•  Two counts of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
•  Two counts of Firearm – Use while committing an offence
•  Two counts of Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was a Firearm  
•  Two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order
•  Two counts of Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
•  One count of Disguise with intent
•  One count of Break, Enter dwelling – commit indictable offence 
•  One count of Fail to Comply with Sentence 

Both are currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse. 

In accordance with Canada’s Youth Criminal Justice Act, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the names of the accused or any other information that may lead to the identification of the young offender.

They are the second and third people charged in relation to the April 27 home invasion, after police closed access to Lakeshore Ave., Lee Ave., and Macdonald Ave. last week, arresting a 22-year-old.
