28-year-old North Bay man facing gun and robbery charges

A 28-year-old North Bay man is facing robbery and gun charges after police say he robbed a variety store earlier this week. 

Police say the accused entered a business in the 1100-block of Lavery Street early Monday morning and allegedly approached the cashier, showed the gun, and fled after he got the cash. 

City police released security camera images of the suspect who was then identified and arrested Wednesday morning. 

The accused was charged with:

  • One count of Robbery with violence
  • One count of Firearm – Use while committing an offence
  • One count of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order
  • One count of Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • One count of Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • One count of Failure to comply with release order

He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
