Series of incidents on Rose Avenue leads to charges for city woman

A 28-year-old North Bay woman is facing eight charges after an alleged string of motor vehicle offences, break and enter and assault on Thursday. 

North Bay Police say a verbal altercation led to a vehicle being stolen from the 500-block of Rose Avenue. 

It’s alleged the accused then went to a house on the-700 block of the same street, entered a residence without permission and assaulted a second, unrelated victim while trying to steal some items. 

Police say the vehicle was then driven into the building, nearly striking the second victim before the accused headed back to the first residence and allegedly assaulted the first victim. 

The woman is charged with: 

  • One count of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • One count of Driving while under suspension
  • One count of Failure to stop after an accident
  • One count of Failure to report an accident
  • One count of Assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate, or strangle
  • One count of Take Motor vehicle without consent
  • One count of Break, Enter a place – commit robbery
  • One count of Mischief Under $5,000

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
