Bureau won’t investigate gas prices in North Bay

The competition bureau won’t investigate high gas prices in North Bay.  City council asked for the investigation a couple of months back because North Bay gas was higher than many other northern communities.

But councillor Mike Anthony says the competition bureau says high prices doesn’t mean something is going on.  The bureau says supply and demand might be why gas is high in North Bay.

Anthony says the bureau makes it quite clear what it needs to investigate any alleged price fixing.  He says evidence of communication between competitors to set prices would help the bureau.

Anthony says if anyone has this kind of information, they should call the bureau
