The future of North Bay’s Summer in the Park festival is uncertain.
This year’s event lost over $109-thousand, according to a report presented to council last night. The losses were mostly caused by bad weather and low beer garden sales. On the plus side, Chair John Strang says the festival brought in over $6.7-million of economic activity to the area. Hotels were booked and downtown businesses were busier.
The organizing committee will be meeting in coming weeks to discuss changes to next year’s event. They will make recommendations to council within a month.
