Elementary teachers ramping up work to rule

Public elementary school teachers under the Near North District School Board will be stopping all voluntary extracurricular activities as of Wednesday.

The union representing the teachers is trying to put pressure on the province to return back to the bargaining table. The government has reached deals with the other major teachers’  unions, but talks with the Elementary Teachers Federation have recently been stalled.

The Elementary Teachers Federation represents over 70,000 elementary public school teachers in Ontario.
