A person is dead after a residential fire on Highway 522 in East Mills Township.
Powassan OPP got the call around 5:00 Thursday morning.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing by North Bay OPP as well as the Chief Coroner’s office.
While the investigation is still in the preliminary stages, police believe there is no risk to the public at this time.
The community can expect to see an increased presence of OPP personnel and vehicles in the area as the investigation continues.
