New flu vaccine for kids

Every year, up to one in five Canadians get the flu.

Flu vaccines are now available across the northeast. You can get your shot at doctor’s offices, public health units, many pharmacies, and community and workplace clinics. If you plan on getting your flu shot this year, get it soon, because it takes two weeks to build up immunity to the virus.

A new flu vaccine is also available for kids between the ages of 2 and 17. It comes in the form of a nasal spray instead of a needle, and protects against four strains of the virus. Visit www.ontario.ca/flu for more information.
