North Bay Police Service seeking public input

The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) is launching a community consultation survey.

David Wooley, NBPS Corporate Communications Officer, says the survey is part of the police service’s strategic planning process, which takes place every five years.

“This survey gives us the opportunity to hear directly from the people that we serve, what they think about community safety, crime and policing.  It helps us see what those priorities should be for the next five years,” he says.

Wooley says the survey is available online

“That’s open to everyone, anyone can take part in that and give their opinion.  We’ve also done a secure randomized phone survey which will have the same questions that we have as the online survey but it will be randomized so statistically, it will be a bit more sound,” Wooley says.

He also says surveys are being done with various community groups too.

The next strategic plan, which will include the results of the survey, is expected to be released in September or October.

Oracle Research is conducting the survey for the North Bay Police Service.
