The Labour Market Group (LMG) is reporting a big jump in job postings in Nipissing.
404 were recorded in June.
That’s up nearly 43 percent compared to May.
“This figure is likely a direct correlation to the province moving through multiple re-opening stages during the collection period and employers scrambling to back fill positions that were left vacant due to COVID-19,” states the monthly jobs report from LMG.
The report says another positive indicator that the district’s job market is trying to come back is the fact that the June figure is 6.6 percent below the 5-year June average.
Over a fifth of the jobs were in the Accommodation & Food Services industry.
Health Care & Social Assistance was next at 13 percent followed by Construction at 9.7 percent and retail trade at 9.2 percent.
Transportation & Warehousing rounds out the top five hiring industries.
