Flooding possible

It’s time to break out the rain coat and umbrella.

Some parts of West Nipissing and North Bay could get up to 40 millimeters of rain today, as the remnants of Hurricane Patricia move through the area. The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Outlook. There’s a possibility rainfall could add up to 10-20 millimeters to isolated creeks and rivers.

The authority is asking everyone to keep an eye on area waterways such as Chippewa Creek. Parents are also encouraged to keep their kids and pets away from watercourses.
