Local Health Unit receives an additional $2.83 million

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is receiving an additional $2.83 million from the province.

That’s on top of the $1.8 million in one-time mitigation funding announced Thursday.

Vic Fedeli, Nipissing MPP, says health units across the province have incurred additional expenses throughout the pandemic including those related to COVID-19 monitoring, case and contact management as well as local vaccination efforts. He says his government is proud of the work our local Health Unit has done to keep our community safe.

Fedeli says the province will continue to monitor and track public health funding and spending, making further adjustments in regards to financial support if required.
