Local Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jim Chirico is in support of a COVID-19 vaccine passport.
However, Chirico says he believes in order for the passport to be effective and efficient it must come from the province.
“What we want to try to avoid again is that patchwork approach,” he said. “We want to be consistent throughout the districts and so that will take some coordination to do and as well security remains an issue.”
He says individual / regional vaccine passports are also an option, but only if the province decides against taking the initiative, something Chirico says is already in discussion.
