Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says it`s incredible to learn that the Wynne Liberals have used tax dollars to pay teachers` unions bargaining costs. Fedeli says the Liberals got caught, and as a result they keep changing how long the practice has been going on for and how much money they gave the unions.
He says they`ve gone from first saying they never did it, then admitted to paying for hotels and food without needing receipts then said receipts would have to be provided. Fedeli says the dollar amount keeps changing and one estimate has the payout as high as $7 million.
Fedeli says bargaining rules detail who pays what during bargaining, and the Conservatives are looking into whether the payments are legal at all. Fedeli adds the party has also heard from lawyers who say something about this smells.
