North Bay council is looking at reducing speeds in school areas.
They approved the measure at the committee level, and the proposal comes up for a full vote tonight. If passed, school areas would be declared community safe zones and the speed limit would drop from 50 km/h to 40 km/h.
Also, if caught speeding in the zones, the fines would double.
