Voters in Nipissing-Timiskaming will have four federal election candidates to choose from.
Elections Canada issued the list of confirmed candidates on Wednesday.
The candidates include (in alphabetical order):
- Greg Galante, People’s Party of Canada
- Scott Robertson, New Democratic Party
- Anthony Rota, Liberal Party of Canada
- Steven Trahan, Conservative Party of Canada
The Green Party does not have a candidate running in Nipissing-Timiskaming in this election.
“Dropping the writ in the middle of a pandemic made things infinitely more complicated,” says Preston Smith, CEO of the Nipissing-Timiskaming Green Party in a statement. “We simply couldn’t get enough signatures in the time required. We’ll definitely be fielding a candidate in the next election.”
Election Day is September 20th.
Advanced voting takes place from September 10th to 13th.
You can also vote in person at the Elections Canada office anytime before 6 pm on September 14th.
There are offices located on Cassells Street in North Bay and Main Street North in Callander.
September 14th at 6 pm is also the deadline to apply to vote by mail.
