There`s a delay in reducing the speed limit on Airport Road in North Bay to 60 kilometres an hour. Councillor George Maroosis was able to delay a vote on the issue and got it to go back to committee for more debate.
One question Maroosis wants answered is have there been many accidents on Airport Road to warrant a lower speed limit. Maroosis says a resident asked him that question and he told his colleagues Monday night he couldn`t answer it.
He`s hoping police stats can produce more information in this area. Maroosis adds a lot of people in that part of the city will go through a lot of brakes when heading down hill on Airport to stay within the speed limit.
