North Bay Police investigating ‘disturbing’ video

The city’s police chief says there is no place for hate and intolerance in North Bay.

Chief Scott Tod is responding to a video circulating online involving local students and anti-Semitic chants and salutes.

I want to offer our condolences to the Jewish community of North Bay for having to see this video and see this happening in our community,” says Tod in a statement. “The contents of this video are very disturbing.”

He is asking the public to support the elimination of hate and intolerance and “end the acceptance of any behaviour that promotes hate speech or intolerance of people based on their race, ethnicity, religion, skin colour, disability, sexual orientation, or other factors.”

Tod says the North Bay Police Service will complete a thorough investigation to determine whether a crime related to hate, genocide, or incitement of hatred has occurred.
