Update: ‘Active situation’ resolved in Cedar/Morin/McLeod Streets area

11:52 am UPDATE: According to NBPS, four people are currently in custody and the situation at Cedar and Morin Streets has been safely resolved.

11:30 am UPDATE: École secondaire catholique Algonquin says the North Bay Police Service advised them just after 11 am that there is no longer a danger with an earlier ‘active situation’.

Board officials say the school is no longer in a hold and secure.

11:15 am UPDATE: The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board says a hold and secure was LIFTED at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall at 10:35 am.

9:45 am UPDATE: Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord advises that cole secondaire catholique Algonquin is in a hold and secure with police dealing with a public safety concern in the area of Cedar Street at Morin and McLeod Streets.

“Students and staff are safe,” says a statement from the board. 

 

The North Bay Police Service is asking the public to avoid the area of Cedar Street at Morin and McLeod Streets. 

The police service says they’re dealing with what they call an ‘active situation’ at a residence in that area.
