Les Compagnons des francs loisirs and the City of North Bay once again joined together to celebrate Franco-Ontarian Day. Sept. 24 marks the 47th anniversary of the flag and the 11th anniversary of Franco-Ontarian Day.
Councillor Johanne Brousseau and Mayor McDonald joined Les Compagnons alongside francophone organizations in the city including school boards, Club Richelieu, Near North Palliative Care Network and others in raising the Franco-Ontarian flag in Léger Square at City Hall.
The event was live on Les Compagnons’ Facebook page.
The flag-raising was part of the many online celebrations Franco-Ontarians are taking part in across the province both today and over the weekend.
