The North Bay Battalion have named centre Liam Arnsby as captain of the team.
Arnsby, who turns 18 next month, is the OHL club’s 8th captain in the North Bay era.
“I hope to bring a competitive attitude every day, to create a positive atmosphere for the team,” says Arnsby, in a release. “I want to show the younger players what it takes to be a team player. We want to make a deep run and give the fans of North Bay a winning team.”
“Liam is full of character,” says coach Ryan Oulahen. “He prides himself on his work ethic and unmatched competitiveness. He’s been a leader his entire life, and we’re extremely proud to name him captain.”
Overage right wingers Brandon Coe and Mitchell Russell, along with defenceman Avery Winslow have been named alternates.
The Troops open the regular season Thursday night at home to the Peterborough Petes.
