Expectations ‘exceeded’ with NBFES food donation event

A successful Fill A Fire Truck With Food event for the North Bay Food Bank.

“Expectations were exceeded,” states a release from North Bay Fire and Emergency Services (NBFES).

They collected 3,229 pounds of food and $4,083 outside Parker’s Your Independent Grocer on Wednesday.

“The generosity of our community is tremendous and North Bay Fire & Emergency Services looks forward each year to this annual event to help such a worthwhile cause while promoting Fire Prevention Week,” says Fire Prevention Officer Chris Nichol.

This year’s theme, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety” encourages North Bay to “GET LOUD” and test their smoke and CO alarms.
