Two more active cases of COVID-19 have been reported in schools at the Near North District School Board.

The board’s website says one involves the Mapleridge Public School community in Powassan and the other involves the White Woods Public School community in Sturgeon Falls.

In a letter to parents at Mapleridge the board says the individual was last at school on September 28th, with the board only made aware Thursday evening.

The school remains open to in-person learning with a cohort dismissed.

There are two active cases involving Mapleridge after an earlier case was reported in a letter to parents on September 26th.

In Sturgeon Falls, the board says the health unit has dismissed the affected cohort at White Woods Public School.

Two bus routes are also affected, route 44 and route 8.

High risk contacts of both cases will be contacted by public health.
